At U-Turn for Christ we believe Jesus is the only way to true freedom from the sin of addiction. Our program is based entirely on the Word of God. Christian discipleship is at the center of everything we do. It has been our experience that with a solid grounding in the Bible and a strong example of Christian life principles, a person can overcome addiction and begin to live the life God intended for them.

U-Turn for Christ NJ is a men’s residential home, based in central NJ. We have been in operation since 2003. The program is comprised of two phases.

Phase One: A minimum commitment of two months is required. Life in the U-Turn for Christ home is meant to provide a safe haven for the men to begin living free of the drugs, alcohol and other influences that have surrounded their lives. During this time the men are not allowed to use the telephone, watch television, or have access to computers. They are also subjected to random drug tests. The only reading material allowed is the Bible. Their daily routine includes time for personal devotions and group Bible studies. Daily work assignments are also part of the discipleship program. Through various churches and ministries the men will learn to work together as a team while under pastoral oversight. After an initial waiting period they are allowed weekly family visits. All visits are on Sunday after church. Family members attend church with their loved one, and will then return to the house to spend time with them on Sunday afternoon.

Phase Two: Once a man completes his initial two-month commitment he can chose to continue for another six months. During this time he will be expected to work and pay a small monthly rent to cover a portion of his room and board. He will also be allowed more freedom, but will remain under the leadership of the home and be required to participate in Bible studies and submit to all the rules of the house.
